Our endangered monarch butterfly population has declined more than 95 percent in recent decades. The main reasons for this decline are habitat loss, lack of milkweed, and pesticide use. Illinois is a vital state in the effort to bring back this beautiful and iconic creature. In this presentation, we will discuss simple things that we can all do on our own property to help ensure the survival of the monarchs.
