We are excited to announce the launch of Sag Moraine Native Plant Community. Our non profit organization is dedicated to the promotion and enjoyment of native plants in southwest Cook County and adjacent areas in northeast Illinois. We celebrated our launch on January 27, 2021.
It was our honor to have respected scientist and bestselling author Dr. Douglas Tallamy as the featured speaker. Mr. Tallamy is a professor in the Department of Entomology and Wildlife Ecology at the University of Delaware. His numerous compelling books about the ecological importance of native plants are the foundation of a grassroots movement across the country. He is changing the way people everywhere view the role of their home landscapes.
There can be no purpose more inspiring than to begin the age of restoration, reweaving the wondrous diversity of the life that still surrounds us.
