See more details about American Hazelnut

American Hazelnut is a multi-stemmed shrub that produces edible nuts enjoyed by both wildlife and people. In early spring, it displays long golden catkins before the leaves emerge. Its broad, textured foliage creates a dense thicket ideal for bird nesting and habitat. It thrives in sun to part shade and adapts to many soil types.

Our selection of native shrubs and trees are available by pre-order only from March 1 to May 15, 2026, and will not be sold at the plant sale. All native shrubs and trees are provided by Midwest Groundcovers Nursery.
