American Witchhazel is a unique understory shrub that blooms in fall when few other plants are flowering. Its fragrant, ribbon-like yellow flowers appear as leaves drop, creating a striking display. It thrives in part shade and moist, well-drained soil. This native shrub provides late-season nectar for pollinators.
Our selection of native shrubs and trees are available by pre-order only from March 1 to May 15, 2026, and will not be sold at the plant sale. All native shrubs and trees are provided by Midwest Groundcovers Nursery.
Orders must be picked up at the Sag Moraine Native Plant Sale on Saturday, June 6th, between 9 AM and 2 PM CT at Moraine Valley Community College (9000 W College Pkwy, Parking Lot D3, Palos Hills, IL 60465).
All sales are final and non-refundable.
