Bottlebrush Grass is a cool-season native with bristly, upright seed heads that resemble small brushes. It emerges early in spring and provides structure before warm-season grasses begin growing. It performs well in part shade and woodland edges. This grass supports native insects and adds texture to naturalized settings.
Our selection of native plants in 50-plug flats is available by pre-order only from March 1 to May 15, 2026, and will not be sold at the plant sale. Flats are provided by Pizzo Native Plant Nursery and feature pesticide-free, local-ecotype native plants.
All pre-orders must be picked up at the Sag Moraine Native Plant Sale on Saturday, June 6, 2026, between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm CT at Moraine Valley Community College (9000 W College Pkwy, Parking Lot D3, Palos Hills, IL 60465).
All sales are final and non-refundable.
