Pennsylvania Sedge is a low-growing native sedge that forms a soft, lawn-like groundcover in dry shade. Its fine-textured foliage creates a naturalistic woodland look. It spreads slowly to fill in under trees and shrubs. This adaptable sedge prefers part to full shade.
Our selection of native plants in 38-plug flats is available by pre-order only from March 1 to May 15, 2026, and will not be sold at the plant sale. Flats are provided by Midwest Groundcovers through their Natural Garden Natives line and feature pesticide-free, local-ecotype native plants.
All pre-orders must be picked up at the Sag Moraine Native Plant Sale on Saturday, June 6, 2026, between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm CT at Moraine Valley Community College (9000 W College Pkwy, Parking Lot D3, Palos Hills, IL 60465).
All sales are final and non-refundable.
