See more details about Wild Blue Indigo

Blue Wild Indigo is a long-lived prairie perennial with deep indigo-blue flower spikes in late spring. Its blue-green foliage forms a sturdy, shrub-like mound that adds structure even after bloom. As a nitrogen-fixing plant, it improves soil health and supports native bees. Extremely drought tolerant once established, it thrives in full sun and well-drained soil.

Our selection of native forbs (1-Gallon containers) are available by pre-order only from March 1 to May 15, 2026, and will not be sold at the plant sale. All native forb 1-Gallon containers are provided by Midwest Groundcovers Nursery.

Orders must be picked up at the Sag Moraine Native Plant Sale on Saturday, June 6th, between 9 AM and 2 PM CT at Moraine Valley Community College (9000 W College Pkwy, Parking Lot D3, Palos Hills, IL 60465).
